Despite being born in the landlocked state of Michigan, Lee Rosbach found his love for the ocean and went on to become one of the captains in the Below Deck franchise.
He got his start in the tourism industry by working at restaurants in Turks & Caicos. After being invited by an acquaintance on sailboat delivery, Rosbach realized he had a passion for the sea.
At 35, he left the restaurant business to earn his captain’s license and began working in the maritime industry. He spent time working as a fishing charter captain, cruise director and marketer for marine companies including INOX, Moldcraft, Spiderline, Shimano, LureBox and more.
Throughout his career, the captain also made a name for himself in the yachting world. He has commanded more than a dozen super yachts. In 2013, Rosbach joined the cast of Below Deck as the Bravo crew’s captain. He has helmed the Bravo series since its premiere.
He is also the author of the book “Running Against The Tide,” a 2018 memoir that depicts how he got his start in the yachting industry.
In 1975, Rosbach married wife Mary Anne Rosbach, whom he met through mutual friends. The pair share five children. In 2019, the couple lost their youngest son Joshua at age 42 after he died from an overdose.
