Born Emily Jean Stone, actress Emma Stone was determined to become a filmmaker from a young age. As a teenager, she created a PowerPoint presentation that convinced her parents to let her move to Hollywood, and in 2004, Stone got her first big break on VH1’s In Search of the Partridge Family (where she later won the part of Laurie Partridge).
Stone’s next role came in 2007 when she was cast as Jonah Hill‘s love interest in Superbad. Stone continued to make a name for herself with roles in 2008’s The House Bunny and 2009’s Zombieland. She cemented her status as a silver screen queen in 2010’s Easy A, and she started taking more dramatic roles, starting with the Oscar-winning 2011 historical drama, The Help.
She was nominated for her first Academy Award for Birdman (2014), and she won her first Oscar two years later for La La Land.
The Cruella star met longtime boyfriend Andrew Garfield, who she dated from 2011 to 2015, while starring as Gwen Stacy in The Amazing Spider-Man films in 2012 and 2014.
The BAFTA winner married writer Dave McCary in June 2020. They welcomed a daughter, Louise, in March 2021.
