He later appeared on the ABC Family series Greek, the ABC comedy Ugly Betty and the ABC sitcom Happy Endings.
Greenfield hit it big in 2011 when he was cast as Schmidt in FOX’s New Girl, costarring Zooey Deschanel, Jake Johnson and Lamorne Morris. After just one season, he was nominated in the Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series at the Primetime Emmy Awards; he lost to Modern Family‘s Eric Stonestreet.
The actor and his wife, Tess Sanchez, are parents to a daughter named Lily.
