Elizabeth Meriwether’s New Girl premiered on Fox in 2011 and features Zooey Deschanel as quirky teacher Jess Day, who moves into a loft with three men, including Nick Miller (Jake Johnson) and Schmidt (Max Greenfield). The series follows the group’s humorous dynamic as their friendships — and romantic relationships — develop further. Before its seventh and final season aired in 2018, New Girl was nominated for five Golden Globe Awards and five Emmy Awards.
