Rita Ora was born in Kosovo on November 26, 1990, before moving with her family to Notting Hill in West London one year later. She is a singer, songwriter and actress who discovered her love for singing at the early age of 6 by performing self-written poems as a way to express herself.
The Calvin Klein model — who cites Gwen Stefani and Beyoncé as musical influences — first broke into the entertainment industry when she was signed to Jay-Z’s label, Roc Nation, in December 2008. She released her debut album, Ora, in 2012. It featured three No. 1 singles: “Hot Right Now,” “How We Do (Party)” and “R.I.P.”
The record took two years to complete and included collaborations with will.i.am, Drake, The-Dream and Kanye West. She then headlined her first major tour in October of that same year.
The songwriter became the new face of Madonna’s clothing line in 2013. Ora split from Roc Nation three years later to sign with Atlantic Records in 2016 and replaced Tyra Banks as the host of America’s Next Top Model that same year. In September 2019, Ora was announced as a judge for the U.K. version of The Masked Singer. She has had roles in Fifty Shades Freed (2018) and Pokémon Detective Pikachu (2019).
The “Black Widow” singer began dating Taika Waititi in 2021 and was previously linked to Rob Kardashian (2011 to 2012), Calvin Harris (2013-2014), Travis Barker (2015).
