Following his two-year appearance on the children’s program, he was able to land various roles in other television series like Goosebumps and Are You Afraid of the Dark? before making a name for himself as Noah Calhoun in 2004’s The Notebook.

Gosling later moved on to other prominent roles in films like Blue Valentine (2010), Half Nelson (2006) and Crazy, Stupid, Love (2011) before starring in The Big Short and La La Land, the latter of which earned him a Golden Globe for Best Actor in 2017.
